Xcelerate’s Metabolic Training is a system of exercises designed to achieve your desired goals in the shortest possible time. It combines two completely different styles of training (resistance and cardio) to create a workout routine that is shorter (30 to 4 exercises with minimal rest in between. The resistance can utilize weights or bands or simply your own body weight. The sessions are designed as short bursts of intense activity, followed by even shorter periods of rest to enable recovery. Metabolic Training is an extremely effective way to maintain your metabolic rate. This style of training is proven to be the most effective at burning fat because it raises your excess post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC), which allows your body to continue to burn calories up to 24 hours after you have completed your metabolic circuit. FIREFIGHTER CANDIDATE PHYSICAL ABILITY TEST (CPAT) TRAINING PROGRAM
The Candidate Physical Ability Test (also called the CPAT Test) consists of eight critical physical tasks that simulate actual job duties. This test is physically demanding and requires that you be physically fit to be successful. The job of a fire fighter is one of the most physically demanding jobs. It requires high levels of cardiopulmonary endurance, muscular strength and muscular endurance. The Xcelerate Training CPAT Program consists of innovative and concise training to not only prepare you for this test, but exceed all expectations. Our program is instructed and supervised by a South Florida Fire Fighter/Paramedic, and consists of: aerobic training, interval training, and muscular strength/ endurance training. The CPAT Test Events will consist of: Stair Climb, Hose Drag, Equipment Carry, Ladder Extension, Forcible Entry, Rescue, Ceiling Breach and Pull.
